Ricardo and Valerie Acosta Ricardo left his beautiful country of Venezuela at the age of 17 to come to the land of the free. It was a rude awakening to realize how sheltered his life had been. He didn’t know how to take out the garbage, balance a checkbook or change oil on a car. He also had no idea what “E”on the gas tank meant. His parents would be so proud of him today; he went on to open his own Salsa Club and currently he is the Admissions Officer for Northwood University. He is also a student at Northwood pursuing his Business degree. He met his beautiful wife in East Lansing, ly to discover they were from the same exact city in Venezuela. They started their business in May, 2010. By June, they were Directors with a paycheck of $565.70!

I have taken supplements for years. Still I would get a bad cold, the flu or just plain sick. Sometimes I would wondered why I was taking them at all because it seemed like they didn’t even work most of the time.

Shari Snyder is so convinced about the power of Oligo that she encourages all of her potential customers to try the vitamins powered by Oligo.

The Power of our words
Do you ever feel overwhelmed? Then you can relate to my 4 yr old son today. His playmate came over and their idea of fun was to take every book off the shelf, every cd out of its case, every piece of clothing out of the drawers and pile it in the middle of the room. After his friend left, I discovered this and told him to go clean it. He said, “I can’t; It’s too much!” I made him recite this verse he’s been learning: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”. It came out so wimpy, I said you sound like a mouse. Say it again, this time like a Lion. Well, this time he sounded like a little dog. “Again”, I said, “like a lion”. He did great and I could see the power of our words and the tone that makes us believe, truly believe! We broke up the room in small tasks. He first put all the books back by himself, I came in and praised him and gave him the next task and with a little help from his sister at the end, it was back in shape. Try it yourself, it’s very powerful to say that verse OUT LOUD when you feel overwhelmed! “I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me!”
How can our kids respond to a classmate who tempts them with pornography, drugs or alcohol?
What do you think would happen if we encouraged our children to fight for what’s right to protect themselves? My children, just like yours, are definitely one of God’s greatest blessings. In our home, we are raising a generation of Kingdom warriors equipped for success. One of the ways we do that is speaking what we want out of them and encouraging them to be leaders for good. My best friend today shared how her 8 year old son attending a christian school was tempted by a classmate to look at a porn magazine. Do you know what this little boy did? He stood up, pushed the kid down and said, “Don’t you ever show me that stuff. I will fight for the purity of my heart.” HOORAY for POSITIVE PEER PRESSURE!! Encourage your kids to stand up and fight for what is right!! What if kids started responding that way when first exposed to drugs or alcohol as well? We could make such a difference in schools and brighter futures for the next generation. What legacy are we leaving behind? “Stand for something or you’ll fall for anything!” Have a talk with your kids today and prepare them how to respond and that it’s OK to fight to protect your heart. What do you think would happen if we encouraged our children to fight for what’s right to protect themselves? Could we raise leaders to change the future of the next generation so our children’s children and so on can live in a better world?
